Highlights of Florence

Duration: 3 hours
The tour starts from the Central market area, characterized by workshops and multicolored stalls, where the Medicean Chapels, and the Basilica di S. Lorenzo, the Medici's Family church, are located. In the vicinity is Piazza del Duomo, where you can admire the Cathedral* (inside visit) and its dome by Brunelleschi, the bell-tower by Giotto, the Baptistery with its bronze doors including the famous Porta del Paradiso.
The tour continues by visiting the medieval quarters where Dante Alighieri and Beatrice lived. Not too far, there is Piazza della Signoria, a great "open-air sculpture museum", overlooked by the imposing Palazzo Vecchio. Next to it is the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most important museums of the world. Proceed to the picturesque Mercato della Paglia (Straw market), where the famous Piggy Fountain is located. You walk along the street that leads to Ponte Vecchio. Cross the bridge and reach the wonderful Pitti Palace where the tour ends.

Artisans of Florence

Duration: min. 3 hoursThis tour includes visits to Florentine artisan shops. You’ll see artisans at work using ancient techniques to work gold, silver, paper, and wood. Starting from the Santa Croce neighborhood, visit a marbled paper shop, a laboratory specialized in book binding and book restoration (other options are: ceramics, wood carving and textile restoration), and a goldsmith. The visit can be customized to suit your desires.

Best of Florence

Duration: 3 hours
Drive along the romantic Viale dei Colli up to Piazzale Michelangelo to admire the wonderful panorama of the city. Proceed to the historic center for a guided visit of the Duomo Complex: Giotto's bell tower (exterior), the Baptistery with its bronze doors including the famous Porta del Paradiso, the Cathedral with the magnificent Cupola del Brunelleschi. Continue the visit to the Galleria dell'Accademia* where you can admire the famous David by Michelangelo and other works by the great artist.

Florence & Fiesole

Duration: 6 hours
Drive along the romantic Viale dei Colli up to Piazzale Michelangelo to admire the wonderful panorama of the city. Visit the gorgeous S. Miniato al Monte church with its white and green marble façade, one of the purest examples of Florentine Romanesque style.
After leaving the church, the car follows an uphill road, bordered by the ancient city walls, until you reach Forte Belvedere, built around 1590 to protect the Medici villas. Driving down, pass Porta Romana, the old gate to the city and, reach Pitti Palace and the magnificent Boboli Gardens. Proceed to Piazza della Repubblica, surrounded by historic literary cafés, where writers and poets used to gather. Following Via De'Calzaiuoli, that connects Piazza del Duomo ( S. Maria del Fiore, the Baptistery, Giotto's Bell Tower) to Piazza della Signoria (Palazzo Vecchio, Uffizi) you will admire some of the masterpieces of Renaissance art.
Continue the visit with Santa Croce church where many famous Italians are buried.
Take a break for an authentic Tuscan lunch or shopping.
After lunch proceed to Fiesole, a small town of Etruscan origins perched on a hill just north of Florence. From here the view over Florence is simply spectacularly beautiful.


Duration: 4 hours
A splendid excursion through the Tuscan countryside to the historic city of Pisa, famous for its architectural beauty . Visit the famous Piazza dei Miracoli with the celebrated Leaning Tower, the Baptistery and other important monuments; admire the interior of the Cathedral, a magnificent masterpiece of Romanesque art built between the 11th and 12th centuries. Take a pleasant walk to Piazza dei Cavalieri, where you can see the historic Scuola Normale, one of the most important universities in the world.

Pisa & Lucca

Duration: 8 hours
Pisa is one of the most mysterious Tuscan cities. Its most celebrated attraction, the Leaning Tower is, along with the Colosseum, gondolas and spaghetti a symbol of Italy. Visit Piazza dei Miracoli or "Field of Miracles" one of the most impressive architectural complexes in the world, built between the 11 th and the 13 th century. The complex includes the Leaning Tower, the Cathedral, the Cemetery, the Baptistery, and the Cathedral museum. After, admire the beautiful church of S.Piero a Grado, built on the spot where St. Peter is believed to have first set foot on Italian soil in AD 42.
The rest of the day will be spent in Lucca, a gem enclosed by imposing tree-lined walls dating the 16 th century. On the top of these walls, where once soldiers patrolled, people ride their bicycles or take a stroll. Here you will visit St. Martin Cathedral, the amphitheatre and the church of San Frediano.
You can also rent a bike and do the "Wall" tour around the city (about 2.5 miles). Lucca is also the birthplace of the opera composer Puccini and you can see his house, now a museum.

Siena & San Gimignano

Duration: 8 hours
Visit two of the most beautiful Tuscan towns. San Gimignano, a marvelous medieval town, is famous for its numerous towers, frescoes and other art treasures. A UNESCO heritage site, it rises on a hill dominating the Elsa Valley. The town has remained intact through the centuries. Its skyline of 13 medieval towers dating back the 11 th century is impressive. You will admire the famous towers, you will visit the Duomo, Palazzo del Popolo, Palazzo Nuovo del Podestà, and St. Augustine Church.
After the visit, proceed to Siena, the city famous for the Palio. In the beautiful shell shaped piazza Del Campo, on July 2 nd and August 16th a bareback horse race that was first recorded in 1283, takes place. Walk along the small medieval streets, admire the splendid palaces and visit the Cathedral including the Libreria Piccolomini and the adjacent Museo dell'Opera Metropolitana.

Float as gentle as a cloud above the magnificent Chianti landscape with its hilltop towns, castles, and famous vineyards.
You fly in the early morning just after dawn. Inflating the balloon takes about 30 minutes. Launch when the winds are light. The flight lasts approximately 1 hour depending on wind and weather conditions.
After landing, toast champagne and enjoy a marvelous Tuscan breakfast.
The launch site is located in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, 12 miles south of Florence.
Although ballooning is all year round, the ballooning season in this area is usually late spring-early autumn.

Siena Palio

Named after the banner that is awarded to the winner, the Palio takes place twice a year, once on July 2nd and once on August 16th. It is a horse race during which horses are raced three times round the Campo in the heart of Siena. The competitors are 10 of the 17 “contrade”  (neighborhoods) of Siena, dating from the 13th Century, who take part in rotation.
Italy in Style is proud to offer Contrada Dinners and following ticket options: a) balcony (on the buildings that surround the campo). Seated, or standing positions, or both depending on the balcony; b) grandstand (known as 'palco') with individual seats. The grandstands sit on the perimeter of the race track, in front of the buildings c) private balconies. Prices are based on your proximity to the start/finish line, known as the 'mossa'.
